Privacy
The short version: the only personal information this website collects is what you type into the enquiry form. It goes to our own mailbox and nowhere else. There are no cookies, no analytics and no trackers on this site.

Who we are
HeroLabs is a business name of 17981341 Canada Inc., a company incorporated in Canada. We are the organisation responsible for the information described on this page.
For anything to do with privacy, write to support@herolabsdigital.com.
What this page covers
This page is about this website only, at herolabsdigital.com.
Our apps are separate. Tahana and BudgetCal each hold accounts and data of their own, and each has its own privacy policy inside the app. Nothing you do on this website touches them, and nothing they hold is used here.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us through the enquiry form:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number, if you choose to give one, which is optional
- whatever you write in the message box
We ask for these because we cannot answer an enquiry without a way to reply and some idea of what you need. Sending the form is your consent for us to use them to reply.
What we do not collect
There are no cookies on this site. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no session tracking, and no third-party scripts of any kind.
Even the fonts are served from this website rather than fetched from another company, so simply reading this page does not report your visit to anyone.
There are no accounts and no logins here. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not use anything you send for advertising.
Your IP address
When you submit the form, the server briefly reads the IP address the request came from. It uses this to count how many messages have arrived from the same place in the last ten minutes, which is how we stop automated abuse.
That count lives in the server's temporary memory and disappears on its own. Your IP address is not saved to any file or database, and it is not included in the email we receive.
Where your message goes
Your message is sent, over an encrypted connection, to our own mailbox at support@herolabsdigital.com. That is the whole journey. It does not pass through a marketing platform, a CRM, or any tool that analyses it, and it is not stored in a database anywhere.
Only the people who run HeroLabs read it. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else, other than the two companies below that we need in order to run the site at all.
The companies we rely on
Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, their servers keep short-term technical logs of requests, which can include IP addresses. This is ordinary infrastructure logging and we do not use it to identify anyone.
Hostinger provides our email and the domain, so your message is delivered into, and stored in, a mailbox they operate.
Both are established providers with their own privacy policies. We use only what we need to run the site and receive email.
Where in the world it goes
We are in Canada, but Vercel and Hostinger both run servers in several countries, so your message may be handled on equipment outside Canada, including in the United States and Europe. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country.
We mention this because you are entitled to know it, not because anything unusual happens to it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our mailbox for as long as they are useful, so that we can pick up a conversation where it left off. We clear out old ones periodically.
If you would rather we did not keep yours, ask and we will delete it. See below.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete what you sent us
- stop using it, by withdrawing your consent
Email support@herolabsdigital.com and a person will answer. There is no form to fill in and no charge. We will reply within 30 days, which is the limit Canadian law sets.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have similar rights under the GDPR, and the same email address is the way to use them.
Children
This site is aimed at adults running households and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Your message travels to us over an encrypted connection, and the mailbox it lands in is password protected. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, so please do not send passwords, banking details or anything similarly sensitive through a contact form on any website, including this one.
If we change this page
If what we do changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will move. Material changes will be obvious rather than quietly slipped in.
If you are not happy with our answer
Come to us first, at support@herolabsdigital.com. If we cannot sort it out, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees this law.
